Porto

And we are off! The Portuguese coastal Camino from Porto, over about 3 weeks. Firstly a few days in Porto as we haven’t been there before. It was a good flight from Gatwick and then metro in from the airport to the house. Luckily the Airbnb owner gave me very clear instructions how to get there including exactly what metro ticket to buy. That may sound easy but people were stood at the ticket machines for ages trying to work it out!!

The apartment is amazing. It’s billed as a 1950’s apartment, which it is as you can see! It has a lovely little terrace which looks over some large gardens and is really quiet but we are right in the centre of Porto. Great place!

We set off straight away for a walk and immediately find somewhere where we could get a Camino stamp, buy a shell and the sign was on the pavement. Looks like we are in the right place!

I had not realised how much Porto was in a hill. We walked all the way down to the river front. It is a beautiful city, I really like the tile work in the houses which is everywhere. We had a general look around and then went back to sit in our lovely balcony. Looking forward to our food tour tomorrow.
