Project submitted!
Thursday 28th January 2021
Lunchtime today and we realised we needed to submit our Hengistbury Head project by tomorrow rather than Sunday. Small panic - I had promised to mock up a few Instagram posts (obviously thats my area of strength! - that plus branding!). Anyway I got to work and put a few ideas together.
We just submitted now - I have to say that I am really pleased with the whole presentation - it looks good - everyone put a lot of effort in which is great - that is the sort of team you want to be part of.
Back to lectures - we looked at grassland today and a few things really stood out for me - grazing animals (cows, sheep, goats) are keystone species for our grasslands. If they weren't there then eventually everything turns back into woodland eventually. Modern breeds of cows and sheep aren't very good at grazing the semi natural grassland that we want to conserve - so we need to rely on rare breeds. Even then it depends on the time of year, what sex the animal is, whether it is pregnant or lactating. Its a complicated business being a farmer, conserving wildlife and making any money.
