We had a few hours in Zurich before the train so we left our luggage at the station. They have an amazing left luggage locker system, more stations should do that! Then went for a wander. There seems to be some sort of rose festival on, most of the fountains are full of very colourful rose flowers, which look beautiful.
We soon discover that all the shops are shut in Good Friday, not that we really want to buy anything except chocolate for Easter for Libby and Freya. What we do find is eye watering expensive so no chocolate!! We walked around and the city is very pituresque but there really aren’t any landmarks. So back to the station for coffee.
It’s a 4 hour train journey, very comfortable and in time, but absolutely packed. That’s not a problem as you have to book a seat so there is no standing or sitting on the floor like in the uk. Overall the trains in Europe are much better than hours. When we get to Paris we drop the bags at the hotel and go for a walk to see Notre Dame. The sun is out and do us all if Paris, but here the shops are open. Notre Dame looks beautiful but the queues are not surprisingly enormous so we don’t go in.

We stop at La Sarah Bernhardt restaurant for a small meal!! Not so small and so much cheaper than Zurich!! Then a walk back to the hotel ready to go back to the uk tomorrow.
