Off to Appleby

The breakfast at the hotel was great and afterwards we took a walk down the beach so the we could get a better view of this side of it. Both of us think it could do with a paint job outside, that’s the problem with concrete! If it was painted white with a blue to pick out the details it would look amazing!

At breakfast I noticed that the was a Pit fest at Hutton in the wood near where we were going. So we decided to go there first. It rained all the way there, a lot! It mostly stopped while we were there but still very muddy underfoot. Some of the ceramics were really good and in the end we bought this dish because it was so beautiful. The place itself was also worth a look around.

Next stop Penrith castle and at last arriving at Appleby. Andrew was out when we got there so we walked into town, where there seems to be a flowerpot competition! Loved the blue octopus. Had a lovely afternoon and evening with Andrew, Rachael and Andrew’s mum!
