Now to Naples !

We got up early to take a look around the amphitheatre before breakfast. It was a beautiful morning and lovely to see it with just a few people around. Breakfast at the hotel was good, and we are set up for the next train journey!

Verna to Milan is about an hour then we had an hours wait for the train to Naples. The station is amazing, and the trains are pretty impressive as well! It is over 4 hours to Naples so we settle in!!

We are still trying to keep our 5 a day up so here is Robin with the fruit salad on the train! We get to Naples then navigate the metro (not too bad but they could be clearer about what to do with the ticket, especially when the ticket inspectors stood in front of the stomping machine!!!). Our hotel is San Fransesco al monte. A converted monastery which is amazing but the clue is in the name ‘al monte’! We looked up from the metro station and decided to take the funicular up to the hotel rather than walk!! It took some time but we got there in the end! Having hit up there (about 7pm) we weren’t going back down!! So we had a lovely drink on the terrace and then dinner in the restaurant, which was good but we have noticed that food seems to be quite salty here. The picture is the view of Naples bay from the hotel terrace, isn’t that amazing!!
