Lockdown walking
Sunday 10th January 2021
The finished Lego flowers - they are amazing and not too difficult to put together!
We have done two good walks in the last two days. Yesterday about 13km over to Crowthorne through the Plantation - it was early on Saturday and not many people around so the wildlife was out! We saw plenty of the usual suspect birds particularly redwings which seem to be everywhere at the moment and also a muntjac deer made a suprise dash across the road. We saw the rose pictured as we came back into Wokingham - such a beautiful flower to see in the middle of winter.
Today we went up to Coombes wood - we haven't done this route since the last full lockdown - about 14km today - lots of horse riders out but no cyclists - which was a bit odd. The frost showed up all the spiders webs beautifully!!
We have decided to set ourselves a challenge this year and do the Surrey Three Peaks Walk -ViewRanger - The Surrey Three Peaks - Hiking route in Mickleham, Surrey, England, United Kingdom.
It is about 23 miles and ends by having to walk up Box Hill - that might be a struggle! We will do some practice before setting out - also we want to be sure that the clocks have changed and there is plenty of sunlight hours - it might take us some time - apparently you can do it in 8 hours but I think it will take us longer!
