Jelly Ears

As you know we always look out for fungus when we go our walking. We saw this yesterday - jelly ears. I turned it over to take the photo so you can see why it gets its name! They are edible - but apparently dont taste of much. I joined a facebook group (1) UK Wild food Larder | Facebook recently. they are a great group of people who will identify foraged food - and whether it is edible or not! Well worth joining up.

Today I submitted my last assignment for semester 1 - phew! It was a really interesting one - a management plan for part of Holt Copse. The volunteers have done a great job and really apart from putting together a work schedule the only other areas that I put in were around bird, bat and flora recording and reporting. We can use irecord to do this - and it really helps with wildlife conservation - both for the volunteers but in general providing this sort of information from where you live is really helpful for conservation generally.
