How many earths do you need?

Today we looked at the increasing human population and its impact on the sustainability of earth. There is a test Ecological Footprint Calculator which shows you how many earths we would need if we all behaved like the person taking the test. I would need 3.4 - which is quite shocking - I think it came down to a few things. 1. Our house is not very environmentally efficient - it is old and not too much we can do about it. 2. We also eat a lot of meat - we have being saying recently that we need to eat less - maybe now is the time to start!

I redid the survey and the only thing I changed was the flights - I put in as much as I was doing when I was working - 9 earths!! which is astonishing but maybe not suprising. Have a go and let me know by putting in the comments how many earths you need.
