Garden Birdwatch

We bought a trail camera to catch pictures of the birds as we cant see them from the house - I still haven't got it working quite right yet - nearly there. It was a lovely day on Saturday so I sat in the garden and some of the birds came to the feeder anyway - poor photo quality but it does prove that there was a long tailed tit - very excited again!

I joined the BTO Garden Watch - that means that I input what birds I have seen in the garden on a weekly basis. Well worth doing - specially given we are still in lockdown for the next few months! Garden BirdWatch | BTO - British Trust for Ornithology.

I am revising at the moment - we have an exam on Wednesday - ethics and wildlife handing in the UK. It covers how to handle small animals - I have seen lots of videos but have'nt actually been able to practice! Also sexing wildlife - mostly they say that it is really difficult unless you are an expert . Listening to Boris Johnson - I dont think we will be back to university any time soon. And probably not this academic year. But the good news is that we can probably go back to volunteering from 12th April. An I will need to look for open water swimming around here - looks like that will be on from 29th March - I might have missed all the winter months - but I am ready to start again in spring!!
