Final soil sample!
Monday 19th April 2021
Back to university, well actually back to the cottage, I go back to actual real lectures on Wednesday! The first thing I did was feed the birds (of course), the second thing was to pack up all my gear and go over to Steadings field to do more soil sampling. Success this time - I was very pleased. I found a bit of the field that was compacted - which I know Felicity would like to see in our assessments - so result! I also counted the earthworms, I honestly never thought in my life that I would be picking earthworms up by hand - but needs must!
It is great to be back - probably helped by the sun and the fact that it is another fantastic day.
Before I left this morning I planted up our seed potatoes, its the first time we have grown them but Wokingham council have moved from black plastic boxes for recycling to green bags. So all over Wokingham people are repurposing their boxes in the garden. We got two additonal ones from the pub - so three boxes of Pink Firapple potatoes - will let you know how it goes!
