Corfe Castle

Up early and after cooked breakfast in the van we left for Wareham. Our trip is a bit odd as it is taking in a couple of places that we want to go to that are further than we would be able to drive there and back in a day - can is perfect for that! First stop Nationwide Verandahs to look at their traditional verandahs and see if they are good enough for us! So glad we came as they are great - much better than the cheaper ones that we had found but much less expensive than the very expensive one - so overall very good! Wareham is very close to Corfe Castle so we went there next and had a good look around. What a lovely area - they have a steam train that runs from Corfe Castle to Swanage - about every few hours - we would have loved to have done it but didnt have enough time. We made good use of our National Trust card and went into Corfe Castle which was lovely. On the way in we saw a lot of National Trust rangers gathered around - it turned out they had disturbed an adder and were working out what to do next! It was amazing - the first time I have seen an adder and I wont mistake it for anything else! Back at the carpark we made a cup of tea using our Kelly kettle - it worked really well as you can see, its probably the first time that we have used it properly so good to try it out! In the evening we stayed at a pub - The New Inn nearby. They allow campervans in the carpark as long as you have a meal with them. No problem with that - the food was great, that carpark was flat and there was access to toilets 24 hours - great stopover.
