Merry Christmas from Wokingham! The picture is taken from a farm that we pass on one of our local walks. They always have a scarecrow up with a seasonal theme!

I have been working on university assessments all this week. They are all started and at various stages of completion! I walked down to Holt Copse yesterday to take a look at compartment 1 and 2 and check that they are going to be suitable. They are just right - different stages of coppicing, access ways, information boards with information on the local wildlife, hedges and lots of bird boxes. The assessment is to create a management plan for a conservation area - I plan to try it out on those compartments and then work with Mike and Colin to take a look at the whole of Holt Copse ( 12 compartments) during spring. I don't expect that we will be able to volunteer while we are in tier 4 but doing the plan will be useful.
