Butterflies
Thursday 8th July 2021
Today Ed and I did some setting up for courses, and also moving some of the Cotswold Way sign posts to the right location. The courses are all run in different locations so a lot of time is spent driving around setting them up.
Later in the afternoon I went out for a walk across Cirencester Park and came across this beautiful butterfly - a Comma. I had to look it up - apparently they used to be quite rare but are now pretty common - due to global warming - they are one of the winners of climate change!
My nephew Alex has recently been given a butterfly transect to record for The Heart of England Forest | Heart of England Forest he needs to go out every week, 26 weeks a year to record all the butterflies he sees. He is much better at identification than I am!! I am looking forward to doing the transect with him next time I go and see him.
