Birds

Well I couldnt wait until next week and I had a few minutes so I thought I would sketch a couple of birds quickly. They are recognisable as birds so I m happy with that!

Last night we submitted our presentation on orangutans. Today we did our dress rehearsal for the presentation tomorrow. It is pretty good - covers all the points and we kept it in time - hopefully tomorrow will go ok barring any technical issues!

It really does feel like we are skimming the surface though - we have a last slide on conservation of orangutans and for each bullet point there is so much more that we could say. There are a lot of wildlife conservation groups working in Boneo to save the orangutan - but it needs local people and the government to work on this as well to ensure their survival.

We watched the David Attenborough program Perfect Planet recently - the episode call The Sun - the first five minutes are on the strangler fig - which is a key component of the orangutan diet - and also many other species in the rain forest. Great program I can recommend it - I particularly like the sequence with the wolves and the arctic hares - who literally ran rings around the wolves - I laughed out loud!
