Another kingfisher
Thursday 17th June 2021
We went over to Guiting Power Farm to help set up the brushcutter course. The owner of the farm was keen to try out charcoal burning and had taken Ed's plan for an oil drum burner and given it a go. Today we saw his third attempt and it worked really well. Its really transportable and takes about half a day to load and burn so quite a useful tool.
We went over to Notgrove Farm next - they have a lovely small kingfisher in the village - I think it looks really good in that setting, perched over some water. The farm has diversified into glamping and has an amazing set of tents, glamping pods and modern barns Cotswolds Glamping Pods & Self-Catering Holiday Cottages (notgroveholidays.com). I would highly recommend it, everything is very well appointed and thought out, in a lovely location. However not surprisingly they are fully booked this year until about October! We were there to talk to them about running some of the rural skills courses there - we get to run courses in a great location, they get people using their accommodation at odd times of the year/week - win all round.
Later we had a call with the owners of Cloud9 glamping Cloud Nine Glamping. They have three locations this year - one of them in Cirencester in the Bathurst estate for the six weeks over summer. They were investigating whether we could run some of our rural skills courses there. Lots of potential that for sure!
